"Scales don't lie, but they don't tell the whole truth"

Updated: Aug 10, 2020

Scales don’t lie, but they don’t tell the whole truth. This one is for all the ladies.  Way too often females can often be fixated with scales to determine there progression.  Weight loss isn’t linear and when you only focus on this part of the journey you can sometimes feel disappointed And let down. When you are only fixated on losing weight you do silly things like crash and yo-yo dieting it’s short term pleasure for long term pain. Losing weight isn’t the only marker for progression and it’s definitely isn’t the most important. I don’t think this, I know this. Way to often when working with women I don’t focus on losing anything but I focus on gaining a better relationship with themselves and what’s really important like creating habits and maintainable tasks daily that deliver progression. Progression is subjective so instead of purely focusing on weight loss as a marker of success here is 10 other things you could mark on. 1. Strength gains  2. Your ability to show up even when you don’t feel like it 3. Being able to stop negative self talk  4. Feeling more confident being intimate  with your partner  5. Falling off track but being able to hop back on 6. Having self control  7. Better quality sleep 8. Fitting into old clothes 9. Not fitting in your current clothes  10. Being proud of how far you’ve come not how far you have to go Coach Mel
