Luke Preston
Owner/Head Coach
With over 12 years in the fitness industry, Luke brings an elite blend of experience, passion and knowledge to the EMP Performance community.
As the owner and head coach, he leads by example guiding individuals from all walks of life including parents, busy professionals, youth athletes and 50+ adults to reach their potential.
Luke holds multiple qualifications including a Master Personal Trainer (Cert III & IV), ASCA Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach, Precision Nutrition L1, ACPE Sports coaching + athlete development diploma and credentials from leading strength and performance programs such as The Strength System (Australian Strength Coach), CrossFit Level 1 and Dmitry Klokov’s Weightlifting course.
Luke has played a key role in the athletic development of his younger brother, helping him progress all the way to the NRL, as well as training several of his teammates along the journey.
This hands-on involvement in real athletic success reflects his ability to develop talent at the highest level.
His background also includes:
S&C Coach at Northern Beaches Christian School (2013–Present)
SG Ball S&C Coach – North Sydney Bears (2018)
Experience coaching within the Manly Sea Eagles Junior Pathways
Trained and coached state, national, and world-level athletes, including NRL players
As a former high-level athlete himself, Luke competed as a Top 100 CrossFit Oceania athlete and represented at the 2013 CrossFit Oceania Regionals. He also brings over 20 years of rugby league experience, having played at both local and representative levels.
Luke’s coaching style is all about smart, structured and sustainable training, helping people build the habits and confidence to be the best version of themselves.


Mel Bteddini
Owner/Head Coach
Mel brings over 12 years of fitness industry experience, working with a broad range of clients including parents, professionals, athletes and adults aged 50+. As co-owner and head coach of EMP Performance, Mel is known for his no-nonsense coaching style and deep care for client progress, both inside and outside the gym.
Mel is a Master Certified Trainer (Cert III & IV) and has completed the Strength System Program Design course under The Australian Strength Coach. He spent 6 years building and operating a successful personal training business at Fitness First, helping people from all fitness levels achieve real, sustainable results.
Mel’s experience includes:
Coaching local schools, sporting teams, and athletes of all levels
15+ years playing rugby league at local and representative levels
2024 Turf Games Intermediate Division team champion
Junior powerlifting champion with a deadlift record of 300kg
Outside the gym, Mel also has an entrepreneurial edge, having owned and operated 4 successful cafés, which reflects his commitment to leadership, discipline and community.
Mel’s coaching is grounded in performance, purpose, and people, helping people build the habits and confidence to be the best version of themselves.

Lulu Irons
Coach
Lulu brings over 4 years of personal training experience and a genuine love for helping people feel stronger, more confident and happier through movement. She holds her Cert III & IV in Fitness and previously coached at Vision Personal Training, working with a wide range of clients on their health and strength journeys.
These days, Lulu balances her full-time sales career with coaching group classes at EMP Performance, bringing unbeatable energy, laughter and a bubbly personality to every session.
She’s a true people-person, loved by all our members for her sense of humor, positivity and ability to lift the vibe of the room. Had a rough day? Lulu will be the highlight of your session.

Nathan Ord
Coach
Nathan is a Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Science graduate with a strong background in high-performance training. This is highlighted by his time working within the Strength and Conditioning department at Everton F.C., where he was involved in everything from athlete preparation to performance monitoring in a professional sporting environment.
Since then, he has been working as a Personal Trainer, specialising in personalised programs that bridge the gap between elite performance principles and everyday health and fitness goals. Outside of coaching, you’ll find him on the football pitch or in the gym working on his own training.
He is passionate about delivering evidence-based training that gets results, while creating a safe, supportive and energetic environment for every client.
